Autumn in Vancouver and the surrounding Lower Mainland is always a beautiful thing to witness — all those leafy trees turning gold and red. Besides taking a long drive or a slow stroll through nature, we’ve found a few things you can get up to this fall in Surrey and beyond.

The Boroughs: Our latest community in South Surrey is preparing to host guests for a family event happening this October – think pumpkins and pumpkin spiced lattes! Be sure to register for updates at theboroughs.ca. We can’t wait to welcome you and say hello!

Surrey Urban Farmers Market: There are only a few more weekends to enjoy fresh farm fare from the markets. Browse one of Surrey’s largest markets at Royal Kwantlen Park to discover delicious food from farmers and crafts from local artisans.

Releaf Tree Planting: Set out to your local Surrey park to plant new trees and shrubs, and help Surrey’s urban parks grow. Dress for the weather — planting happens rain or shine.

Surrey Art Gallery: From now until December 11, visit the Surrey Art Gallery for two exhibitions curated by members of the Black Arts Centre in Surrey — Concealed Cultures: Visualizing the Black Vernacular and I see; I breathe; I am!

Diwali: Diwali Fest is coming to downtown Surrey on October 16 for an afternoon of lights and celebration. Enjoy live performances and activities for kids between 2:00 and 4:00pm. Keep your eyes peeled for more Diwali events happening throughout the community.

Handcrafted Expo: Start thinking about Christmas gifts, search for home décor, or buy something nice for yourself at the Cloverdale Handcrafted Expo on October 22 and 23.

Brewhalla: Sample craft beer, feast on food truck treats, and listen to great tunes at Brewhalla on October 29. Get a group of friends together for this fun fall afternoon.
