The Canopy at Tynehead Park sales centre has re-opened for 2019, and our sales team is eager to show off this master-planned community of townhomes. When you visit the sales centre, you’ll meet Tara Desmond, Bonnie Thornton, and Willow Miller, who make up our friendly team. Read on to learn a bit more about them and for an inside look at Canopy.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your time at StreetSide Developments.

Tara Desmond, Project Sales Manager: I’ve been fortunate to work with StreetSide for just over four years. Prior to Canopy, our team sold South Point Walk in South Surrey, as well as Hycroft 1 and 2. 

Bonnie Thornton, Sales Assistant: My 5-year anniversary with StreetSide is coming up in May. Before Canopy, I was at South Point Walk, where we sold condos and townhouses, and Hycroft 1 and 2 selling freehold rowhomes in South Surrey.

Willow Miller, Sales Coordinator: I’ve had the pleasure of working with the company for almost 4 years, both with Foxridge and StreetSide Developments. I’ve been involved in several Qualico communities, including Cliffstone, Morgan Rise, Willoughby West, The Ridge at Burke Mountain, Hycroft 2, South Point Walk 2, Forte, and now Canopy at Tynehead Park.

How would you describe Canopy?

Tara: Canopy is one of the most unique sites I have come across in my 18 years as a new home sales manager. With its proximity to the park and abundance of retained old-growth trees, you truly feel removed from city living, all while being able to quickly access shopping and transportation.

Bonnie: Canopy is a lovely group of townhomes nestled into 642 acres of beautiful old-growth trees in Tynehead Park.

Willow: Canopy is a beautiful, well-hidden community that offers all of the conveniences of urban living while still being tucked away and surrounded by nature. Homeowners at Canopy have quick access to shopping, schools, SkyTrain and bus stations, highway access, and much more, but one of the largest perks of the community’s location is the proximity to Tynehead Regional Park and all of the wandering trails within.

What do you think homeowners will like most about Canopy?

Tara: The location and the variation of floor plans. With over 40 floor plans, it’s nice that homeowners have more choice in finding a home that will suit their specific needs. 

Bonnie: Our potential buyers, I feel, are people who enjoy being out in nature and taking long peaceful walks, and yet still have quick access to all the amenities in the area.

Willow: I think our current and future homeowners will appreciate the turnkey nature of these brand new homes. With all of the appliances (washer and dryer included) already installed and the home complete with beautiful finishings, all you need to do is bring your things and start enjoying your new home.

What is your favourite floorplan at Canopy?

Tara: My favourite floor plan is our 4-bedroom T6D. It has two distinct outdoor spaces – a patio and backyard access off the living room area, as well as a deck off of the dining room at the front of the home. 

Bonnie: One of my favourite floor plans is the T6AE 3-bedroom end-unit plan, which is approximately 1,521 square feet with extra windows and a side-by-side spacious garage. This home is 28 feet wide, and features a very luxurious open living area for entertaining.

Willow: Anything that backs onto Tynehead Park! I love the privacy that the canopy of trees offers in the backyards of the homes on the park. Being able to sit in your living room or kitchen and see nothing but trees out the large back windows is exactly what I would be looking for in my next home.

What is your favourite thing to do in the area?

Tara: I love the Fresh Street market and their coffee bar – they make the best cookies!

Bonnie: Walks in Tynehead Park.

Willow: Visit Guildford Town Centre, which is just down the road and has great stores and restaurants.
