There’s no denying that Burnaby Heights has charm and history embedded in its streets and storefronts on East Hastings. It’s so easy to get absorbed in all this character that you may forget how close other communities are. While Burnaby Heights is located in Burnaby’s northwest corner, it’s actually a very central place to live. Vancouver, Port Moody, and North Vancouver are all minutes away by car, bike, or transit.

NORTH

Less than ten minutes is all it takes to reach North Vancouver over the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge. Kayak in Deep Cove, ski Seymour or Grouse Mountains, and hike Lynn Canyon. Some of the Lower Mainland’s best outdoor recreation is in your backyard. You’ll also find excellent programs and education at Capilano University only ten minutes from home. Don’t let a bridge fool you – North Vancouver is one of your closest neighbours when you live in Burnaby Heights.

EAST

Turn your direction east and within ten minutes you’ll come to Burnaby Mountain, home to the renowned Simon Fraser University. Drive a couple minutes farther and the scenic landscape of Port Moody will appear. Known as the City of the Arts, this stunning community is enveloped by forest and water. Take a picnic to Rocky Point Park or dine in style on the waterfront at The Boathouse. On your way home, take a quick detour up Burnaby Mountain and watch the sunset from Burnaby’s highest elevation.

SOUTH

The new Willingdon Greenway creates a connection for pedestrians and cyclists between Burnaby Heights and Brentwood. Here you’ll find a SkyTrain station, restaurants, shops, and a hub for businesses. If you’d rather drive, Metrotown is only fifteen minutes away – an even larger centre with a diverse range of retail and entertainment. The idyllic lawns and trails of Deer Lake Park and Burnaby Lake are also close.

WEST

East Hastings is a major thoroughfare linking Burnaby with Vancouver. Reach downtown in fifteen minutes by car or bus. Culture, sports, and a world-class city are at your fingertips. In the summertime, enjoy all the delights the PNE and Playland offer – only six minutes from home. And the Trans-Canada Highway, linking you to destinations across the Lower Mainland and beyond, is only a couple minutes away.
