A brand-new greenway is nearing completion in Burnaby. The Willingdon Greenway, which began construction in 2017, connects Brentwood and Burnaby Heights along the east side of Willingdon Avenue, and is intended to promote community and sustainable living on the 1.2km trail.

Adding even more green to the project, Willingdon Linear Park is a welcoming new greenspace with seating areas and public art. Enhanced crosswalks will be introduced to make the area even more pedestrian-friendly. Easily stroll from one neighbourhood to another, or enjoy a moment of peace in the park.

Brentwood has significantly transformed over the past five years. The urban centre is now considered an ideal location for businesses to base their offices, rather than Vancouver. And the redevelopment of Brentwood Town Centre has drawn attention for its role in urbanizing the area. The Brentwood SkyTrain station, operating on the Millennium Line, is a gateway to destinations around the Lower Mainland, with trips to downtown Vancouver or SFU taking less than 20 minutes.

Burnaby Heights, just 2km north of Brentwood, is the oldest neighborhood in the city, with over 100 years of history. Navigating through this community, taking in the long-standing family restaurants, dynamic cultural diversity, and friendly faces, will evoke a nostalgic feeling that’s like nowhere else in Metro Vancouver. Local business owners in the neighbourhood support each other via the Heights Merchants Association (HMA), maintaining a traditional sense of community.

As the finishing touches of local public art are made, the pathway is already open for pedestrians and cyclists.

Homeowners of the limited collection of homes at Forte will be connected, not only from Burnaby Heights to Brentwood, but also with the rest of Metro Vancouver.
