What’s Happening This August Long Weekend
Jul 25th, 2016
As we reach the midpoint of summer, there are only so many sunny weekends left. The BC Day Long Weekend is a favourite – sunshine is almost guaranteed as you explore out of town or stay around the neighbourhood.
We’ve come up with five ideas to keep you and your family occupied over the three blissful days. Enjoy!
Berry Picking:
Get sweet and sticky in a berry field. There are lots of u-pick farms throughout Langley and Delta. Try out Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery. Or look through this list on Daily Hive.
Pride Weekend
Vancouver’s West End will be alive with pride this weekend for the 38th Annual Vancouver Pride Parade on Sunday. Keep an eye out for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who is scheduled to attend. Check out the list of weekend events here.

Squamish
Hop on the highway and drive up to Squamish for the day or the weekend – there’s plenty to do. Gawk at the views on the Sea to Sky Gondola, hit the whitewater rapids, or stroll through the shops on the main strip. Read BC Living’s guide on Squamish here.
Secret Beaches
You could also escape to a nearby secret beach. Skip the crowds, bask in the sun, and enjoy nature. We listed our favourites here.
