2017 and 2018 will be busy years for StreetSide as we prepare to launch a number of new communities to neighbourhoods across Metro Vancouver, including Burnaby, Maple Ridge, and South Surrey.

One of these communities will be in Burnaby Heights, a modern collection of condominiums that will be situated at the corner of Willingdon Avenue and Hastings Street. This long-established neighbourhood is known for its charming character and incredible accessibility. There are lots of perks to living in this beloved neighbourhood, including nature, shops, and transportation. Take a look at a few reasons why we chose this ideal location to build homes.

NATURE

Every direction you turn, there is the beauty of nature. Explore the trails and admire the stunning views at Burnaby Mountain Park. Catch a concert or have a picnic by the water at Deer Lake and Burnaby Lake Parks. Travel across the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge to the North Shore Mountains, where you can hike through the forests or ski the snowy slopes. There’s also the waterfront setting of Confederation Park and Montrose Park – practically in your backyard.

SHOPS

Hastings Street boasts a diverse mix of modern conveniences and family-run establishments. Several banks, drugstores, grocery stores, and other everyday services are just down the street. Visit Caffe Artigiano for artisan coffee or grab a Starbucks to go. Chez Christophe is one of the best chocolatiers and patisseries in the Lower Mainland, while the legendary Anton’s Pasta Bar is famously known as Vancouver’s original pasta bar. Pick up dinner or lunch supplies at Sunshine Deli and work it all off at Moksha Yoga. Everything is at your doorstep. Or travel a few blocks down Willingdon to the shops at Brentwood Town Centre.

EDUCATION

Several elementary schools and the large Burnaby North Secondary School are in the neighbourhood. In addition, Simon Fraser University is close by on Burnaby Mountain.

TRANSPORTATION

A number of major highways and thoroughfares surround Burnaby Heights, including the Trans-Canada Highway, Lougheed Highway, and Barnet Highway. Easily reach the shores of Port Moody, the culture of downtown Vancouver, and the recreation of North Vancouver. You can even travel with ease farther afield to Whistler, the US border, and the Okanagan. Enjoy the bus system traveling across East Hastings and access the SkyTrain network from nearby Brentwood Town Centre. There’s always somewhere to go.
