There are lots of things you can do inside your home throughout the winter – hibernating in your cozy space is certainly appealing. But, despite the dropping temperatures, spending your winter days outside is incredibly rewarding.

Here are some activities throughout the Fraser Valley that will enrich your winter.

Hemlock Resort

Venture into an alpine community to hit the slopes only an hour and a half away. Hemlock Resort in the mountains of Agassiz has 34 runs, tube park, terrain park, and snowshoeing. The mountain is even open for weekend night skiing for those who need more than just a day.

Fort Langley National Historic Site

Open year-round, the Fort Langley National Historic Site opens a door to British Columbia’s past. Pan for gold, get a lesson in metalworking, and wander through the historic fort pretending you’ve traveled back in time to the 1800s – it’s easy to imagine.

Winter Wonderland

Bundle up and explore the great outdoors. Study the birds along the river shores of the Serpentine Fen Nature Trail or marvel at the beautiful landscape in Aldergrove Regional Park. All you need is a couple of hours, warm winter clothes, and maybe a flask of hot chocolate.

Ice Skating

Lace up your own skates, or rent a pair, and slide out onto the ice at one of the Fraser Valley’s many indoor rinks. Langley Twin Rinks has a number of programs for all members of your family, and Surrey has several rinks open for drop-ins. While the rinks are indoors, the crisp air will wake you up.
