NATURE

Nature is something you’re definitely not short of when living in South Surrey. Step into Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest and completely forget about civilization. The 130-hectare park is a second growth forest, home to birds, coyotes, and black-tailed deer. Wander around the 4-kilometre nature trail to get a sense of peace and quiet. Being on the coast, beaches are in abundance. The popular Crescent Beach dates back to 1909, and is still the best spot to soak up the summer sun or walk along year-round. Nearby White Rock Beach stretches for 8-kilometres – another spot to admire the West Coast scenery.

SHOPS

You will always have everything you need close at hand in South Surrey. From Grandview Corners to Morgan Crossing to South Point Exchange Mall, well-known grocery stores, restaurants, drug stores, and clothing stores are everywhere. Grab household decor and tools at Canadian Tire or Restoration Hardware, dine out at Cactus Club or Vij’s My Shanti, find the latest fashions at H&M or Banana Republic, and pick up coffee on the go at Starbucks. It’s even easy to shop state-side – the border is just 10 minutes away.

CULTURE & RECREATION

Keep your mind and body active with a selection of cultural and recreational activities. Your kids will benefit from the programs at Arts Umbrella, a highly regarded creative education centre offering dance, art, and music programs. South Surrey is a golfer’s paradise – there are four courses nearby, including the renowned Morgan Creek. There’s also a brand new Aquatic Centre at Grandview Heights.

SCHOOLS

Your kids will receive an excellent education at the selection of elementary and secondary schools in the neighbourhood – Pacific Heights Elementary, Sunnyside Elementary, Southridge School, Earl Marriott Secondary School, and Semiahmoo Secondary School.
